La Liga: Barcelona’s poor run continues, Granada beat 2–0 in La Liga

Madrid, AFP. In the Spanish Football League La Liga, Barcelona tried their current and future stars in a match against Granada, but neither Leon Messi nor Ansu Fati could save them from defeat. Barcelona continued their poor performance after beating Granada 2–0.

Messi landed in Las Carmes, but he was not fit enough to get a place in the starting line-up. At the same time, 16-year-old Fati, who was glowing in the recent week, was able to compete in this match only as a substitute. Barcelona were trailing by one goal when both of them landed on the ground after half time. Ramone Aziz scored in the second minute of the game to give Granada an early lead. Later in the second half, Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal handballed into his own camp, after which Granada’s penalty kick was converted by Alvero Vidillo in the 66th minute to put his team 2–0 ahead. After this, Barcelona failed to score despite several attempts and were forced to lose their second in the season.

Barcelona have won only two of their five matches played this season so far, but have won both of these at their home ground, Camp Now. Barcelona have seven points from five matches and this is the worst start to their season since 1994. On this defeat, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde said that we are not getting good results, which I am really worried about.

In the other matches played in La Liga on Saturday, Eber held Levante and Celta Vigo to a goalless (0–0) draw to Atletico Madrid.
